How it works?

The solar-powered lighting systems work on the principle of photovoltaic (PV) technology to use sunlight to generate electricity through solar panels. The solar cells or the PV cells in the panels-mounted on a lamp post or connected in a pole-absorb sun’s energy to convert it to DC electricity.

These solar panels have rechargeable battery to store converted electricity. This stored energy is used to power the LED lamp during the night hours. The provision for battery storage can provide sufficient power for up to 10 hours daily. The batter provides a minimum of 5 days backup.

Through a light source, the solar panels take into account weather conditions like sensing outdoor light and giving off light automatically. The system comes up with the automatic turn ON/OFF time for the dusk-to-dawn operations.
